About DrainOps
Drainage software built around the way drainage companies actually work
DrainOps is job management and operations software designed specifically for drainage contractors.
It brings the day-to-day running of a drainage business into one system — from customers, sites and scheduling through to job reports, photos, CCTV surveys, quotations, invoices, compliance records and site history.
Rather than adapting generic field-service software to drainage, DrainOps is being built around drainage workflows from the start.

Why DrainOps exists
Drainage businesses shouldn’t have to run on scattered information
Running a drainage business often means information ends up spread across several different places. Jobs may be booked in one system, engineers contacted through WhatsApp, photographs stored on phones, reports created separately, compliance records kept in folders and invoices raised somewhere else again.
That works up to a point. As the business grows, however, it becomes harder to keep a clear view of what has happened at a site, what still needs doing, what an engineer found, what has been quoted or invoiced and whether the job was actually profitable.
The usual picture
- Jobs booked in one system or a diary
- Engineer updates sent over WhatsApp
- Site photos left on individual phones
- Reports written up separately after the visit
- RAMS and certificates kept in folders
- Invoices raised somewhere else again
The DrainOps approach
- One record for each customer, site and job
- Visit notes and photos logged against the job
- Reports generated from the job record
- RAMS and compliance documents stored alongside the work
- Quotes and invoices raised from the same job
- A clearer view of what each job actually earned
DrainOps was created to bring those processes together without turning them into unnecessary administration.
Built from real drainage operations
Developed by people who run drainage jobs, not just software
DrainOps has been developed from direct experience within the drainage industry.
Founder Tony Fowles has worked in drainage for around 20 years, including approximately a decade in operations management covering scheduling, engineers, reactive and planned works, customer communication, RAMS, permits, reporting and larger drainage projects.
DrainOps is also used alongside DrainHub, an active drainage business serving customers across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.
That means features are not designed purely around what looks useful on a software dashboard. They can be tested against real jobs, real customers and the practical problems that drainage companies deal with every day.

Who it’s for
Designed for drainage contractors
DrainOps is primarily aimed at independent and growing drainage companies.
Owner-operators building a team
Sole traders taking on their first engineers and needing jobs, reports and invoices to stop living in one person’s head.
Established local contractors
Businesses moving away from spreadsheets, paper job sheets and disconnected systems.
Firms outgrowing generic software
Companies that find larger field-service platforms too generic or unnecessarily complicated for drainage work.
DrainOps is not intended to force every company into exactly the same workflow. The platform is being developed so businesses can enable the tools they need while keeping the system straightforward for the people using it every day.
How it’s developed
Developed with the industry, not in isolation
DrainOps continues to evolve through real operational use and feedback from drainage professionals. New features are developed around genuine workflow problems rather than adding functionality simply to make the software appear larger.
That approach is helping shape areas such as CCTV reporting, site-plan creation, engineer compliance, customer history, profitability tracking and company-level controls.
Actively developed, currently in beta
Core job management, reporting and invoicing are in day-to-day use on live drainage jobs. Other areas are being released and refined in stages as they are tested with drainage businesses, so the platform will keep improving as you use it.
The objective is to build a practical operating platform that becomes more useful as a drainage business grows.
DrainOps and DrainHub
Independent software, powered by real drainage work
DrainOps is an independent software platform developed alongside DrainHub.
DrainHub provides the real-world operating environment in which many DrainOps workflows can be tested and refined. You may therefore see DrainOps described as Powered by DrainHub.
This reflects the practical drainage experience behind the platform.
Powered by DrainOps
DrainHub is a drainage services company based in Upper Heyford, serving homes and businesses across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.
Built for the work behind the work
Clearing drains is only one part of running a drainage company. There is also scheduling, communication, documentation, reporting, compliance, invoicing, follow-up work and making sure the business is actually earning money from the jobs it completes.
DrainOps is being built to make that side of the business easier to control.
Run the jobs. Keep the history. Understand the business.
